1. Acceptance of these terms
These terms apply to your use of the website at ethexplorer.org (the “site”), operated by the independent ethexplorer.org editorial team (“we”, “us”). By using the site you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the site. Our privacy policy explains how data is handled and forms part of these terms.
2. Information only, not financial advice
Everything on this site, including reviews, scores, rankings, guides and the output of the live explorer tool, is general information for educational purposes. It is not financial, investment, legal or tax advice, and it is not a recommendation to buy, sell or hold any cryptoasset. We are not licensed financial advisers. Cryptoassets are volatile and you can lose all the money you put in. Make your own decisions, and seek independent professional advice where appropriate.
3. Third-party data and the live explorer
The live explorer tool and the live statistics on some pages show data fetched in your browser from third-party public services, currently Blockscout and public JSON-RPC nodes (PublicNode, dRPC and 1RPC), with prices from CoinGecko provided through Blockscout. We do not control these services. Their data can be delayed, incomplete, temporarily unavailable or wrong, for example during a chain reorganisation, an indexer outage or a pricing error. Labels, ENS names, token names and “verified” markers come from third parties and are hints, not guarantees that an address or token is legitimate.
The tool is provided free of charge “as is” and “as available”, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of accuracy, availability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. For anything important, confirm the result on the chain itself or on a second explorer; our guide on how to use an Ethereum explorer shows how.
4. Accuracy of our content
We test explorers carefully and follow a published testing methodology and corrections policy, but features, prices, API limits and policies of third-party services change often. Information that was correct when we checked it may be out of date when you read it. If you spot an error, please tell us at contact@ethexplorer.org.
5. Outbound links and partner disclosure
The site links to websites run by others, such as block explorers, documentation, regulators and a cryptocurrency exchange. We are not responsible for the content, availability, security or practices of those websites, and a link is not an endorsement of everything on them. Your use of any linked service is governed by that service's own terms.
Some outbound links are partner links, including the buttons that point to the partner exchange. If you open an account through them, we may receive a commission, at no extra cost to you. Partner relationships never influence our reviews, scores or rankings, and the partner is not an explorer we rate. Whether a financial service is suitable and legally available where you live is for you to check; regulators such as the FCA register or FinCEN's MSB search can help you verify a firm's status.
6. Acceptable use
You may browse the site and use the explorer tool for personal and professional research. You agree not to use the site for unlawful purposes, not to attempt to disrupt it or the third-party services it relies on (for example by automated mass querying through our pages), and not to present our site, name or brand in a way that suggests we endorse or operate another service. Anyone claiming to offer “support” or fund recovery in our name is not acting for us.
7. Intellectual property
The text, design, graphics, scores and code of this site are owned by us or used with permission, and are protected by copyright and other laws. You may quote short excerpts with a clear credit and a link to the original page. You may not republish whole articles, reviews or score tables, or copy the site's design, without our written permission. Product names, logos and trademarks of third parties, such as Etherscan or Blockscout, belong to their owners and are used only to identify those products. Blockchain data itself is public and is not claimed by us.
8. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of, or reliance on, the site, its content, the live explorer tool or any linked third-party website. This includes loss of cryptoassets, funds sent to a wrong address, trading losses, lost profits or data, and indirect or consequential loss. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot legally be excluded, such as liability for fraud or, where applicable, for death or personal injury caused by negligence. If you are a consumer, you also keep any statutory rights that apply to you.
9. Changes to the site and these terms
We may change, suspend or remove any part of the site, including the explorer tool or its data sources, at any time. We may also update these terms; the date at the top of this page shows when they last changed. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
10. General
If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it. These terms are the entire agreement between you and us about use of the site.
